How to prepare

Method:

1/ In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, mix the liquid ingredients except for the eggs.

2/ Add the dry ingredients to the liquid and knead well. Leave the dough in a warm place for an hour until it doubles in size. Add the egg to the dough and knead again and leave for 10 minutes until it doubles in size again.

3/ Heat a non-stick pan over the stove and heat the oven grill. Meanwhile, start shaping the dough with a teaspoon or using the hand by following the method of shaping the dough on the pan, taking care to shorten the heat so that the maqshoush balls do not burn from the bottom. When they’re browned from the bottom, place the pan in the oven until the top of the maqshoush Is browned.

4/ In a small pan over medium heat, add the sugar and water, cook until the mixture thickens. Turn off the heat and spices and mix until the butter and syrup are well combined.

5/ After the maqshoush is brown transfer to a bowl and covered with the syrup from all sides and served.
